Rory Miccilroy: Masters champion ‘animated’ to play the first event in India


Masters champion Rory Miccilroy says he is “excited” to play his first India tournament at the DP India World Championship later this year.

The biggest winner of the big winner will be on the field for the new event, which will be held at Delhi Golf Club from 16 to 19 October.

“I’m excited to not only tee in India for the first time, but also to visit a country I always wanted to explore,” said McRs.

“I am proud to play in the inaugural championship of DP World India. I have always enjoyed playing a global program and, as I said earlier, there is a tremendous potential to increase golf in the country.

“This is a great opportunity, and I can’t wait to play in front of Indian golf fans.”

Confirmation from Milcroy’s first visit to India follows news that he will return to the Australian open for the first time in 11 years in December.

World Number Two – which won the Australian Open 2013 – will head the field in Royal Melbourne from December 4-7 and also pledged to play at the 2026 tournament in Kingston Heath.

After a disappointing 47 -year end in the PGA Championship last week, Mcilroy returns to action at the Ohio Memorial Tournament on May 29.

The 36 -year -old will also compete in Canadian Open in the first week of June, before bidding his second major victory of the year at US Open in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
