Rory Miccilroy received a pitiful 78 of eight pairs when he lost his cut at the Canadian Open.
This is the first time that the North Irish has not been able to do the weekend in a tournament since the Open Championship last July.
The Masters champion, who won this event in 2019 and 2022, finished his second round at TPC Toronto in the Osprey Valley, nine more about the general pair, 149th in a 153 players – a remarkable 22 kicks behind leader Cameron Champ.
Mcilroy, who started the day in a pair, made a quadruple-Bogey eight in the fifth couple of four years and shot more at the eighth, 10, 11 and 13 holes before recording his first bird of the day on the 15th.
Another bug -a bug arrived on the 17th and, while he handed a bird in the final hole, it made Mcilroy well below the projected cut line in three less.
Champ, who arrived only in the early hours of Wednesday morning, having been the eighth alternative last weekend, accompanied a 62 opening with four below 66, when he opened a two-stroke advantage over colleague Andrew Putnam.
It was also a good day to Ireland’s Shane Lowry, whose two below Par 68 led him to eight less, four kicks to the champion’s drifting.
Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark is just ahead of Lowry in nine below, along with home favorites, Richard Lee and Nick Taylor, and Victor Perez from France.
However, there was also disappointment for Justin Rose, which Mcilroy defeated in a play-off at Augusta National in April.
English will not be around the weekend either after losing under unfortunate circumstances in one of the peers.
After finding the seventh Tee, the 2013 US Open champion, unintentionally, made his ball move as he changed a loose impediment and received a two -time penalty after not putting the ball back in his original position.
Matthieu Pavon of France also had a second round to forget, signing for an 8 80, which included 12 in his opening hole, the 10th pair.
