Lightning, who won three of the four previous finals, was in control and opened an advantage of 23 to 12 at the end of the first quarter.
This set the tone for the contest, with Samantha Wallace-Joseph ending with 24 goals for the winners, and Ella Clark and Berri Neil also impressing with 14 and 13 goals, respectively.
Emily Andrew has contributed 24 goals to Mavericks, who stay in fourth place with a round of remaining games before playoffs.
Birmingham Panthers won 75 to 69 in the opening match of the round on Thursday, with third place Manchester Thunder hosting the second place in London on Saturday (17:00 BST).
