Tyrese Haliburton scored in the second end, when Indiana Pacers won the victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the game one of the NBA finals.
His 21 -foot kick placed the pacer at the front for the first time in the match, with 0.3 seconds, while securing a 111 to 110 win.
Thunder, with home court advantage in the first two games, led for 15 points during the fourth quarter and, in the final seconds, the ball was in the hands of NBA’s most valuable player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
However, he lost an attempt of two remaining 12 second points and Pacers took the rebound, passed the ball to Haliburton and he drove on the court before reaching the points of victory.
It is the fourth time in the 2025 playoffs that the 25-year-old has registered a score great times to win a match and once to force overtime.
Indiana won despite turning the ball more than 25 times, with 20 of those who arrive in the first half.
“It’s not the recipe to win,” said Haliburton.
“We can’t turn the ball too much.
Teammate Myles Turner said about Haliburton: “Some players say they have, but there are other players who show. He wants to be the only one to hit this shot. He doesn’t dodge this moment.”
Gilgeous-Alexander was the biggest scorer of the game with 38 points, while Pascal Siakam Top scored for Pacers with 19 points, followed by Obi Toppin with 17.
“We played as if we were trying to keep the lead instead of trying to extend it or be aggressive,” said Jalen Williams of Thunder.
The two-year-old game two game is also in Oklahoma and will start at 19:00, local time on Sunday, June 8 (01:00 BST on Monday).
