MotoGP: Marc Marquez extends the championship lead with Aragon’s dominant victory

Marc Marquez ended a dominant weekend by beating the Aragon Grand Prix in Spain to claim his fourth victory of the season.

Ducati’s 32-year-old pilot won the Sprint race on Saturday and broke the record of laps to qualify for the Sunday Race at Pole Position-O 99th Pole of his career.

Marquez made a strong start to the race and walked well.

His brother Alex pressed him on the early laps, but Marquez increased the advantage to 1.5 seconds halfway and Alex had no answer.

This means that the Spaniard extends his leadership about his brother Alex, who ended second, at the top of the MotoGP standings to 32 points.

“It was an amazing weekend,” Marquez said. “As I expected, the others were getting closer and closer in all sessions, but [I] It was consistent.

“The celebrations together with my brother were amazing.”
