Cardwell Road’s Emmanuel-Thomas, Gourock, near Glasgow, stated to blame for the attack in May. Report restrictions on the case were raised on Wednesday.

Prosecutor David Josse KC said he followed a “very complete investigation” from the National Crime Agency (NCA).

The charges against Rosie Rowland, 28, from Southend Road, Chelmsford, and 33 -year -old Yasmin Piotrowska from Purves Road, northwestern London, were withdrawn by the prosecution, he told court.

They cried because they were allowed to leave the quay, having denied the importation of marijuana between July 1 and September 2 in previous hearings.

Josse said the investigation into her involvement was discontinued after analysis of Emmanuel-Thomas’s cell phone.

“They thought they were importing gold, not cannabis,” said the prosecutor.

Emmanuel-Thomas made an appearance on Arsenal’s first team, also playing for Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers, Mk Dons and PTT Rayong, based on Thai in 2019.

He was fired by Scottish Side Greenock Morton FC after being arrested at his home on September 18.

NCA said earlier that drugs arrived in Bangkok’s bags via Dubai.

The maximum sentence for cannabis smuggling to the United Kingdom is 14 years in prison.
