Rome has appointed former Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini as his new manager in a three-year contract.
Gasperini, who guided Atalanta to third in Italy Serie A and qualification for the Champions League this season, replaces Claudio Ranieri.
Former Liicester City and Chelsea Boss left the position of manager after taking Rome to Quinta in Serie A and a vacancy in the Europa League.
Ranieri left the retirement last November to take over as Ivan Juric’s head of Rome, and the 73 -year -old has now taken an executive position at the club.
Gasperini, 67, spent nine years in charge of Atalanta and won the Europa League with them in 2023-24, when he beat Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
“Gasperini’s career is defined by its creative tactics, dedication to hard work and the exceptional development of players,” Roma said.
“Both property and Claudio Ranieri believe that Gasperini is the right man for the mission.”
