Adam Burgess claims the first silver medal of the World Cup in six years in La his d’Ergell


Adam Burgess, from Britain, claimed a first silver of the C1 World Cup since 2019, after a “very special” race in the calor.

The 32 -year -old saw the competition of Olympic champion Nicolas Gestin to finish second, behind Luka Bozic of Slovenia.

Burgess produced an impressive race during the sleeves in northeastern Spain to move to the top of the classification.

Stoke’s born rower was the last to compete in the finals, but produced a race without a penalty for the beginning of the season in a emphatic way.

Burgess won Olympic silver in the individual canoe at Paris Games, having agonized a 0.16 second medal in Tokyo in 2020.

“I’m always there or around, and we worked hard to try to bring these races in the final, and I think today, my worst race was the final, but this heat was very special,” Burgess said.

“It was great to get close to that there.”
