Samir Xaud, current president of the Roraimense Football Federation (FRF), will be the new president of CBF after an election scheduled for next Sunday (25).
Single candidate after the withdrawal of Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, president of the Paulista Football Federation (FPF), Rumination will take over the maximum Brazilian football entity amid strong pressure from clubs.
Reinaldo was the favorite of the main teams of the country. Last Saturday (17), representatives of 39 clubs of series A and B, members of the two main alloys of national football (Libra and LFU), met to discuss the electoral process of the CBF. After the meeting, 32 teams signed a document officializing support for Reinaldo’s candidacy, which eventually removed from the election for lack of sufficient support between the state federations.
The manifesto of the clubs exposed a growing dissatisfaction with the current structure of the CBFconsidered little democratic. Among those who did not sign the document are Palmeiras, Botafogo, Grêmio, Vasco, Athletic, Paysandu, Remo and Volta Redonda.
