UFC president Dana White says she can’t stop Jon Jones from retiring, although Americans have “agreed” to fight Tom Aspinall.
White was responding to the social media activity of the UFC heavyweight champion, which suggested that he was retired Before calling the former cash Francis ngannou.
Speaking at the UFC 316 post-Luta press conference, White said that Jones, 37, said nothing about retiring and that he was only interested in combining him with Aspinall.
“Tom Aspinall is the guy. If the guy wants to retire and doesn’t want to fight, there’s nothing you can do,” said White.
“I didn’t want Khabib [Nurmagomedov] To retire, I thought [Daniel Cormier] It should have stayed in it longer, so it’s not my account.
“I’ll do what I can to do the fight, if we can, if he’s talking so crazy, I didn’t realize that.”
With ngannou feeding speculation, it may be open to a Return to UFC, White played the chances, even if he was going to fight Jones.
“It’s AspinalL’s fight,” said White.
