Stephen Bunting beat English colleague Rob Cross by 8-4 at the Nordic Masters final in Denmark to claim his second World Series title of the year.
In an eight-legged race, the two were tied 3-3 at the break before Bunting reached the double top and broke the throw after Cross failed to take 40 in the seventh stage.
Bunting produced a 104 end to climb 5-3 and continued his race to five legs in a row to move four to 7-3 and one of the victory against a cross-in trouble.
Bunting lost his bull when he almost ended with 170, but secured the victory by cleaning the remaining 25 on his next visit.
“The way I was playing, I wondered if I would win another title again,” Bunting told Bahrain Masters in January to ITV.
“My doubles have been atrocious in the last two months. It’s something I need to work with.
“But when you earn titles like this against the caliber of players I’m playing week after week, that means a lot.”
Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were knocked out in the quarterfinals.
World champion Lithtler suffered a 6-3 defeat to Nathan Aspinall, who was defeated 7-5 by Estaminha in the semi-finals.
Current champion Gerwyn Price won 6-3 to end the world’s number one Humphries Challenge, but the Welsh has lost 7-4 to cross in the last four.
