While Hull Kr performed some impressive performances on the way to victory this season, it is fair to say that the Challenge Cup final may not have lit the world for the neutral.
It was nervous and friction for many of the 80 minutes, with no way wanting to give anything.
Despite the quality of the game, Captain Elliot Minchella was happy for his team to overcome the line.
“I’m lost in words. I thought we had exploded to be sincere,” he told BBC Sport.
“That’s what we are proud of, never giving in. It was the uglier performance all year round, but it doesn’t matter, isn’t it?”
If Hull Kr makes Wigan’s domestic dominance undo, it is likely that he will come throughout wins and put the work again since the beginning of next week, while the season continues.
But for Peters, he sees the general picture and understands how seismic was a victory for more than just for his squad.
“I was a little more vocal than usual. When Mikey was going to kick the goal, players like that, they invent special pieces. It was a moment for him, a time when he will have forever. I felt calm then,” he added.
“This is for so many people who are not here today. People who are not with us, people have worked hard to bring us to it.
“Fortunately, it gives them the belief that they can do so. We did it today. It was not our best performance, but it was brave.”
