England vs. Western Indies: Liam Dawson and Jos Buttler help hosts win the first T20 on Rua Chester-Le-Street

The 3-0 win of the ODI series was the ideal beginning for Brook as a white ball captain, but to recover the T20 format form of England – with a World Cup to arrive early next year – is much greater meaning.

While Brook suggested that he could reener the team, having Buttler at his best will be as important as anything Yorkshireman can do on the pitch.

Buttler, who said he was drained until the end of his captaincy on the Champions Trophy, took 12 of his first 11 balls before throwing an outrageous reverse escape to Andre Russell’s sewing.

In sixth place, he launched Alzarri Joseph twice in the middle of the wicke and threw the West Indies quickly on one leg of six and four to the thin, while England scored 78 on the powerplay, although Ben Duckett was caught by one in the top of the second.

Then Buttler lost the attack and later his pace.

West Indian spinners dragged the scoring, with the left -wing Gudakesh’s riot by granting only 21 of his four overs. Smith hit the wicket in the middle, Brook was played by Spinner Roston Chase by six and Tom Banton scored LBW for Russell for four.

With Jacob Bethell fighting to go to his Run-A-Ball 23, Buttler was trapped in front by Joseph to a scam from his second century T20 for England in the penultimate.

Still, having done 41 not leaving only 20 balls in the third ODI on Tuesday, Buttler suggested his post-capital era can be profitable.
