Amy Hunt, from Britain, ran the best of a season to finish second in the 200m women in the Diamond League Met in Rome.
American Anavia Battle won the race in 22.53 seconds, with Hunt in second in 22.67 and Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith, from Costa do Ivory, in 22.75.
Hunt produced a late explosion when he ended strongly to claim his second place and was 0.25 seconds from 22.42.
Ireland’s Sarah Health won the victory by winning the 1500m with the best season of 3: 59.17 by beating Sarah Billings from Australia (3: 59.24) and Abbey Caldwell (3: 59.32).
In the 100m men, the American Trayvon Bromell directed 9.84 world leader to win the race.
Emmanuel Eseme, from Cameroon, was second in the best of a 9.99 season and Kenya, Omanyala, was third in 10.01.
