2nd Cup Cup League 2: Scotland recovers from the unstable start to beat Dutch

Scotland recovered from its surprise defeat by Nepal on Monday with a convincing 44-racing victory over the Netherlands in Dundee.

Having been invited to hit first, Scotland fell to 97-6, but was in debt with the efforts of number five Batter Finlay McCreath, which made 81 of 106 deliveries.

McCreath put 91 for the seventh Wicket with Mark Watt, which entered 60 of 72 balls.

Some glossy Safyaan Sharif (36*) hits helped the hosts reach 262-9 of their 50 overs, a total of the Netherlands could not fall.

Two fakes with the new ball to Brandon McMullen began the second entrances thin to Scotland, and the Netherlands continued to lose postings at regular intervals.

Sharif, Watt and Jasper Davidson ended with two scalps, while the Netherlands was released 218 in 45 overs.

“We didn’t start the beginning, but the composure that young Finlay McCreath showed it today was great to see,” said Scotland captain Richie Berrington.

“This is not how we want our folding entrances to unfold, but the pleasant thing is that some different people have risen.

“It’s great to have options to go with the ball at different stages.”

Scotland – which has 10 wins from 18 CWCL2 matches – Next Face Nepal on Sunday, before facing the Netherlands again on June 12.
